Valentine Day

Why we supposably celebrate this day of Love called Valentines Day....

Valentine
Valentine's Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus or Valentine....

Several martyrdom stories were invented for the various Valentines that belonged to February 14,  but a popular hagiographical account of Saint Valentine of Rome states that "he or they were imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire."

According to legend, during his imprisonment, he healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. And before his execution he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell.

Today, Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day of flowers, cards, and choclate's being issued to lovers, friends and family all over the world each year on February 14, spending over 12 billions dollars to express our love on this one special day called Valentines day and that's why we supposably celebrate Valentines day.
