There are a lot of historic relics that those still look for although they have been said to be legend, but myth has it to be truth! So which holds more weight Myth or Legend?
Myth
Popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone; especially : one embodying the ideals and institutions of a society or segment of society
Legend
A story coming down from the past; especially : one popularly regarded as historical although not verifiable
Many people believe in these myths, "The Lost City of Atlantis, The Lost City of El Dorado, and many more. Though some find them to be legend, because of the lack of evidence from Archaeologist and Geologist. But, does that mean that the myths are not true? Or does that just mean we haven't found or explored enough to support the legendary myths?
Mythology (disambiguation) itself had to originate from somewhere as well as Legend (disambiguation).
Ideology differs, but take a look at the pyramids in Egypt for example. They where built by a civilization that was thought to be far less advanced in technology, and mentality, but where advanced enough to built with such complexity, on a grand scale, with no advancement as far as tools and machines. Yet, still left evidence that shows us in modern times, that things that may seem complex to us, may have been far less challenging to those in their time, maybe because they adopted to their environment, using the resources they had, land.
The Trojan's although myth to some, still holds great pride! Not only is it known for the Trojan War it is respected as well as the mascot of one of California's most prestigious Colleges "University of Southern California" known to some as USC, now to say the Trojan war is known as myth, it's holds a lot weight. It's has also held it's immorality over the centuries, continuing to be discussed as well as respected through out time.
So, in conclusion when it comes to which one holds more weight "Myth or Legend". I guess in the end it all depends on which you choose to believe.
